Gervais Readies to Attend Air Force Academy

As many seniors mull over their college decisions, Christian Brothers Academy senior Jackson Gervais has his plans set for the foreseeable future.

The multi-talented young man from Little Silver will be attending the United States Air Force Academy, where he will play on the Division I lacrosse team and pursue a potential engineering career that will begin by serving his country.

“I didn’t know anyone who had ever gone to any military academy,” Gervais said. “I went and visited Air Force first and when I stepped on that turf at practice I said, oh my God, this is where I need to be. I love everything about the [Air Force] Academy, it’s the same reasons I chose to come [to CBA]. It’s the challenge… the kind of brotherhood is very similar.”

With his decision to attend the Air Force Academy, Gervais is CBA’s recipient of the 2025 Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award from the West Point Society of New Jersey. This award is designed to honor exceptional students who have demonstrated outstanding attributes of character, service, and leadership in the areas of academics, extracurriculars and community service.

Gervais has built a well-rounded resume during his time at CBA. He has earned first honors in every semester since his sophomore year, while becoming a core member of the varsity lacrosse team. His skill as a defenseman played a big role in the Colts winning the Shore Conference Championship last spring for the first time in 15 years.

As talented as he is on the field, he is equally impressive on the stage as a guitar player. Gervais was featured heavily in CBA’s recent Rock Band Concert, where he likened the show to his play on the field.

“We’re on stage, ripping solos, jumping around. It is a totally different experience,” he said. “It was the same kind of happiness that I felt when we were playing in the Shore Conference [Championship] game.”
